Shabbat Morning Services (Shaarey Tphiloh)

9:30AM - 12:00PM

Temple Beth El 400 Deering Ave. Room 4A
Portland, ME 04103

Congregation Shaarey Tphiloh, known locally as the Noyes Street Shul, is Portland, Maine’s oldest synagogue. We were founded in 1904 on Newbury Street in Portland’s Old Port and moved to our location on Noyes Street in 1954. In 2016, we moved to 400 Deering Ave.  We are a Modern Orthodox synagogue and welcome all interested to join us for Shabbat morning services at 9:30 every Saturday morning.

We are an open, warm, and caring community. We value Hebrew learning and spiritual growth as lifelong pursuits and place emphasis on the principle of HaChanassat Orchim– ” the welcoming of strangers.” We welcome new faces to join in our prayer services and to participate in our community events
