Congregation Bet Ha'am Will Be Going On A
Sephardic Journey to Spain and Holland - November 1-12, 2017
Join us for an informational session on Wednesday, February 8, 7:00-8:30 PM, about a Sephardic history trip to Spain and Holland co-led by Rabbi Saks and Steve Steinbock.
In Spain, we will explore the golden age of Spanish Jewry in Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, and Seville, as well as encounter contemporary Jewish life in modern Spain. Our experiences will include the rich encounters between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam on the Iberian Peninsula. Then, we'll follow the journey of Sephardic Jews during the time of the Inquisition and travel north to Amsterdam for an encounter with its Jewish history and that community's experience during the Holocaust, as well as modern Jewish life in Amsterdam.
Even as the details are coming together, we hope that you'll plan to join us on February 8 for our informational session with Rabbi Saks and Steve (via Skype).
