Join Bet Ha'am for a special week for Cantor Linda Hirschhorn! You may register to be part of her choir for the week, with a performance at Friday Shabbat Services, an open song circle for all on Saturday, and a final community performance on Sunday, May 8th. Congregation Bet Ha’am, a reform synagogue in South Portland, will welcome its 2016 Bernstein

Scholar-in-Residence, world-renowned cantor, singer and songwriter Linda Hirschhorn, for a unique
week of music and study May 3-8, 2016. The greater community is invited to participate in choral
workshops, a free song circle, and a Mother’s Day concert!

Those who love to sing are invited to register for Cantor Hirschhorn’s Bet Ha’am Chorus Workshop,
including musical training Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM and Saturday from
5:00-7:00 PM, with performances on Friday and Sunday. This Six-Day Intensive Chorus Workshop is only
$50 for members; $60 for non-members. All aged 10-100 from any faith are welcome to participate;
you do not need to know Hebrew or read music. All participants must register by Monday, April 25,
2016.


Cantor Hirschhorn will co-lead Friday Shabbat Services at Bet Ha’am on May 6 at 7:30 PM, when the
chorus will also perform. On Saturday, May 7 at 7:00 PM, she will host a free Community Singing Circle.
The Community Concert, also free to the public, will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2:00 PM. All events will
occur at Congregation Bet Ha’am at 81 Westbrook Street, South Portland.


This annual program series at Congregation Bet Ha’am, brought to the community by the Rosalyne S.
and Sumner T. Bernstein Scholar-in-Residence fund.
