Youth and Family

The JCA's social and educational programs for families include our acclaimed Preschool, Center Day Camp in Windham, PJ Library, Mothers Circle, Foundations of Jewish Family Living, and Next NextDor (a Playgroup for small children).

Our programs provide opportunities for our children and families to grow, learn and play in beautiful, safe and engaging environments driven by Jewish values. We celebrate our community's diversity and welcome children and families of all abilities, faith traditions and backgrounds.

Preschool

One of seven NAEYC accredited preschools in Portland, Maine, our family-oriented programs for 2-5 year olds foster a child's natural instincts and curiosity by providing a nurturing, comfortable, developmentally appropriate environment.

Center Day Camp

For 65 years, Center Day Camp has provided summertime fun and enrichment along the wooded shores of Sebago Lake for campers ages 3-15. Children of all faiths form life-long friendships, learn new skills, gain valuable exposure to Jewish culture and traditions, and enjoy the magic of camp.

PJ Library

PJ Library is a national program that sends free, age-appropriate, Jewish-themed books and music each month to children 6 months through 8 years old. Created and supported by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is funded nationally in partnership with local philanthropists & organizations.
