Rhythms of Jewish Living (Melton) What’s the point of living Jewishly? What ideas, beliefs, and practices are involved? This course examines a wide variety of Jewish sources to discover the deeper meanings underlying Jewish holidays, lifecycle observances, and Jewish practice. For the Portland class, discussion will be geared more towards young families, those in interfaith marriages, those on the conversion path, and anyone else wanting to gain fundamental understanding of Judaism. The Portland class is also subsidized by a grant from a private family foundation to cover free babysitting and dinner for participants and their children.
