Come one, come all to recognize the service of some incredible members of our Congregation: Rosie Wohl, Karen Silverman, Henry Wasserman, Dana Gold, and Sylvia Most, at Bet Ha'am's Volunteer Dinner and Annual Meeting, Friday, June 16 at 6:00 PM.

Food and Welcome: the evening begins with one of our renowned Bet Ha’am potlucks, some quick socializing and the Rabbi’s welcome.

Once our plates are full, we’ll vote for board members; this year’s slate consists of Jeremy Stein, Lee Tabenken, Tom Rosen, Martin Lodish, Samantha Johnson, Stuart Abramson and Sylvia Most. Our proposed officers are Nathan Szanton (President), Lynn Urbach (Vice-President), Tom Rosen (Treasurer), Andrea Krasker-Gavin (Secretary) and Andrew Kosak (Immediate Past President).

Volunteer Recognition: this year we honor five very special members of our community—Rosie Wohl, Karen Silverman, Henry Wasserman, Dana Gold, and Sylvia Most.

Rosie and Karen wear many hats at Bet Ha’am, including some during our annual Purim spiel, but one of the most important roles they play is chairing the Caring Committee. We will thank them for the compassion and coordination they provide to grieving families and those who are dealing with illness.

If you’ve been at Bet Ha’am on a Sunday morning, you have probably seen Henry skillfully working with our students. A graduate of our religious school, Henry has supported our students and teachers for the past six years, and we wish to thank him before he moves onto the next phase of his life.

Dana Gold and Sylvia Most, have diligently co-chaired our Tikkun Olam Task Force over the past 18 months, concluding their work and helping to form the Tikkun Olam Council that is charged with re-engaging and re-visioning the ways in which we engage in Tikkun Olam at Bet Ha’am through education, action, and advocacy.

We so appreciate everything that Rosie, Karen, Henry, Dana, and Sylvia do for our community.

Treasurer’s Report and our new dues structure: Tom Rosen, our amazing treasurer, will provide a comprehensive overview on this past year’s budget and next year’s proposed one. Rabbi Saks and Tom will also share information about our exciting new dues model. Business should wrap up by 7:15 and we'll move into our evening Shabbat service at 7:30.
