A Conversation: How To Protect Our Civil Liberties in Maine

Barbara Shaw, attorney, NCJW member and JCA Community Relations Council Chair, will moderate a panel including:

Robyn Merrill from Maine Equal Justice Partners

Susan Roche from ILAP (Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project)
Zach Heiden from ACLU
Kate Brogan from Maine Family Planning

 

These organizations advocate to protect our civil liberties, immigration rights, women’s health care, and economic inequality. They will speak about state specific issues and how changes in federal policy are likely to impact Maine. Most importantly, they will suggest how we can ensure that our voices are heard and how we can best resist the passage of laws that are detrimental to human rights.

Co-sponsors include NCJW and, Bet Ha’am, Etz Chaim, JCA, and Temple Beth El
Co-sponsor organizations will have displays with information on how to directly volunteer.
