Zoë started playing violin at the age of three and she has adorable pictures to prove it. She also studied (to varying degrees of success) the piano, French horn, viola, clarinet, Hindustani music, and Renaissance/Baroque lute. Her current musical endeavors include playing in the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra and arranging ABBA songs for mandolin. In Portland, she has presented works by Jewish composers at Etz Chaim synagogue, and is fascinated by the tensions that exist between the canonic repertoire of classical music and Jewish traditions--she is looking forward to seeing 'A Quiet Heart', which explores these same tensions in a contemporary setting.
