Roll up a sleeve and save a life!

The American Red Cross anticipates a great need for blood donations during the coming winter season and especially around the Christmas and New Year holidays. The Jewish community is in a unique position to help support our greater Portland community at a time when many of our friends and neighbors are traveling or have holiday commitments.

Donations of blood and red cells are desperately needed!

Blood Donation:

The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour.

Power Red Cell Donations:

A power red cell donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.
